Privacy Policy for F1lmlog
Last updated: September 28, 2026
F1lmlog (“the app”) is a film-photography logging app developed by Moontic Studio. This policy explains what data the app handles and, just as importantly, what it doesn’t.
Summary
Your film-photography data — rolls, exposures, gear, film stocks, notes, and photos — never leaves your device unless you explicitly export and share it yourself. The app has no account system and no backend server. It contains no third-party analytics and sends no telemetry of any kind: no usage events, no screen tracking, no button-tap tracking, and no error reports. Nothing you do in the app is reported anywhere.
Data the app stores
All data you create in F1lmlog (film stocks, gear, loaded rolls, logged exposures, notes, ratings, and any photos you attach) is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database and the device’s local file storage. None of it is uploaded anywhere by the app. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it, unless you’ve exported a copy yourself (see below).
Permissions the app requests
- Photo Library access — used only when you choose to attach a reference or developed photo to an exposure, or a photo to a stock/gear item, or a hero photo to an archived roll. The app only accesses the specific photo you select.
- Camera access — used only when you choose to take a new photo directly within the app (e.g., to photograph an exposure or use the built-in light meter tool).
Neither permission is used for any purpose beyond what you directly initiate. The app never accesses your photo library or camera in the background.
Data export and sharing
F1lmlog lets you export your data (as a ZIP archive containing your data and photos, or as a CSV of your exposure log) using iOS’s native share sheet. This is entirely user-initiated: nothing leaves your device unless you tap “Export” and then choose a destination (e.g., Files, AirDrop, Mail, a messaging app) yourself. The app itself does not send this data anywhere — where it ends up is entirely up to the destination you pick in the share sheet.
Product analytics
F1lmlog has no product analytics. Earlier versions of the app used PostHog, a third-party analytics service, to record anonymous usage events, screen navigation, button taps, and error reports. That integration has been removed entirely: the analytics SDK is no longer part of the app, and no such data is collected, recorded, or transmitted.
The app makes no network requests for analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or telemetry. It does not track which screens you visit, which buttons you tap, or which actions you take. There is no anonymous device identifier, because nothing is being sent anywhere that would need one.
Third-party services
F1lmlog uses no third-party services. There is no analytics provider, no crash-reporting provider, no advertising network, and no backend of its own. The app has no data to sell or share with anyone, and does not do so.
Children’s privacy
F1lmlog does not collect any personal or identifying information from anyone, including children — it collects nothing at all, and everything you create stays on your own device. The app is not directed at children specifically, but nothing about its data handling changes based on the age of the user.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that involves network access — this document will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will reflect that. Since the app currently has no update-check or notification mechanism of its own, please check this page directly for the current version.
